The R4 3DS for 3DS / 2DS consoles and working with the old DSi, DSi XL and DS consoles.

So what separates R4i from R4 3DS?

To start using the R4i you will need to connect it to your PC using the included Micro SD / SDHC memory card reader which perfectly connects the memory card to the PC. Once connected you simply need to select the files you want to take with you to your 3DS and click to drag and drop them onto the memory card itself. Once on the memory card you can insert it into the R4i-SDHC 3DS which fits into slot 1 of the 3DS console, this is where you previously put your game cartridges.

After inserting the R4 3DS simply select it from the menu and follow the steps on the screen, the whole process takes a few minutes and can be completed by anyone on a PC or laptop, just have access to one of these items.

Before selecting which R4 3DS bundle suits you it is advisable to think about what you plan to keep on the memory card, for small collections of media files you can use a 2GB memory card, for anything the largest we recommend a 4GB or 8GB memory card, and 4GB is enough for most people.
